Ivy Beyond Neo-Life is based on gallerist Ivy Brown. Ivy had open heart surgery in 2010 after a series of medical challenges that have been hewr constant companion since she was 12 years old. She refer to her aortic valve as Wilbur since it came from a pig. That is the name of the pig in Charlottes Web, a favorite childhood story. In all her medical adventures having open-heart surgery holds a different meaning for her then all her other experiences. Love is meant to come from our heart, things with great meaning are heart felt, we can go on and on with the various reflections, but needless to say there is nothing like it. This show is truly close to her heart, as are all those who have supported her and her family.

THANK YOU
“Heartbeat Japan” was a great success! Nearly 200 people had their heartbeats drawn by SASAKI at the three-day Dwell on Design conference in Los Angeles from June 24th to 26th. We were able to raise over $5,000 for Architecture for Humanity’s rebuilding program in Tohoku, Japan. The exhibit area was always surrounded by passers-by who were entranced by the sight of drawing people’s heartbeats.
“HEARTBEAT DRAWING in VENICE” was held in the exhibition; PERSONAL STRUCTURES, 54TH International Art Exhibition Venice Biennale in 4th June – 27th November 2011 at Palazzo Bembo, Venice, Italy.
Heartbeat-Portrait performance had been held from 31th May to 9th June 2011. The performance was finished and SASAKI drew 299 Heartbeat-Portraits for 3-minute.

“Heartbeat Japan” was a great success, thanks to our community of friends, sponsors, and neighbors! Through our collaboration with friend M&A, we were able to raise over $3,500 for Architecture for Humanity’s Japan Earthquake Reconstruction Fund. At the end of the night, over 70 participants added their unique heart beats to the growing scroll canvas, which will make its way to Dwell On Design in June.
